Roc'Chots

Roc'Chots

Estate selection: Roc'Chots

The estate is on the commune of Lancié, which is the only Beaujolais Villages commune to be completely surrounded by Beaujolais Crus. Its closest neighbours are AOC Fleurie, Morgon, Chiroubles and Moulins à Vent.

After intense research into the terroirs on our estate, we have identified a specific and typical area in our Beaujolais Villages vineyards.

Planted on an outcrop of pink granite, the Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grape variety that is the only red variety in Beaujolais, gives advent to Roc'Chots.

Released for sale after 2 years maturing, it makes a great partner to a good meal of red meat or game.

A different idea of Beaujolais-Villages… Strict selection coupled with long maturing gives amateurs of the style a rich and complex wine that is idea for cellaring for 3 to 5 years.

Tasting notes:

- Beautifully matured robe of shiny cherry with garnet tints.
- After its primary aromas of undergrowth, the wine's maturity shows through with candied wild cherry, fruit in brandy and liquorice upheld by a gentle note of cacao.
- Both warm and powerful, the palate gives a feel of red fruit liqueur, plum and liquorice. The tannins that come through at the end are a reminder that this structured wine has good times ahead.
- For lovers of more mature wines. Open at least an hour before serving
