LE BEAUJOLAIS VILLAGES

Approximately 40 villages of the North Beaujolais region have right to this name. This vineyard was classified AOC by the decret of September 12th, 1937. The "Beaujolais Villages" approximately covers 6300 ha, namely third of the vineyard, for an average production of 350 000 hectoliters.

The "Beaujolais Villages" represents the freshness, the charm, the vitality of the wine. Its ruby "robe" with violine hues exhales fresh grape flavours. Fruity, soft, supple, it is perfectly balanced and tasted at any hour of the day and the night. It is drunk fresh but not too (13° to 14°), because the cold hides all the pleasures.

It is tasted alone or withs pots, pork-butchery, a sausage with boiled potatoes, a beef stew, a rabbit fricassee, a stuffed goose, cheeses...

DOMAINE COLONGE & FILS

The Domain is located in the village of "LANCIE". You just leave the borough to join, through the vines, the "Poype du Chatelard" which offers a splendid panorama (approximately 360°) over the Beaujolais vineyards of the "crus". Its closer neighbours are the crus "FLEURIE, MORGON, CHIROUBLES, and MOULIN A VENT". Moreover, a small pause for visiting medieval castle in "Corcelles" with its guardpost : the pigeon loft, proves to be necessary.

The exploitation of the Domain spreads on 33 ha including 17 in Beaujolais Villages wines for an annual average production of 950 hectoliters. An impassionned man, Serge Colonge, devotes himself to the rise of the Domain and the maturing of this high-class wine.

A small note of history : the village of "Lancié", counted among 25 villages of the Beaujolais Villages wine, remains however the most isolated in the heart of the "crus". Its "Julien Saint" church was built in 1304 and rebuilt mainly of 1986 to 1987. It was, during the Revolution, the theatre of the "Lanceron" citizens assemblies and the temple of the reason during the Terror period.

The BEAUJOLAIS WINE VILLAGES : resulting from a patient maceration in thermo-regulation, its benefits from a ruby "robe" and subtle flavours, the perfection of the red fruits. The charm of this wine, that you will be able to keep in your cellars a few years, is going to attract you.
THE BEAUJOLAIS WINE VILLAGES NOUVEAU  : Inimitable head blending of the early product wines, its first exit is very awaited : the 3rd Thursday of November. A thermoregulation makes it possible to support with perfection its "fruit basket" flavours. Its youth and its lightness are very appreciated. It is advisable to reserve its bottles from October.
